Mike Vala, a Partner at BSHM, leads operations for the firm’s Columbus office. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati in 2003 and a Master of Architecture from the Boston Architectural College in 2011. Mike is a registered architect in the State of Ohio and the State of Michigan and holds NCARB certification. He has been with BSHM since 2008.
In his role, Mike is dedicated to setting strategic direction and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment. He champions thoughtful, context-driven design solutions that balance efficiency with innovation, ensuring each project delivers meaningful, lasting value for clients and communities. Known for his attention to detail and strong alignment with client goals, Mike prioritizes clear communication, accountability, and design excellence across all phases of a project. He takes particular pride in mentoring teams and cultivating a culture focused on quality, collaboration, and successful project delivery.
