BSHM was selected to reposition the career center into a contemporary educational facility for full-time students in grades 11-12 and a large adult education population.

The rebuilt space includes a new board of education suite for the Superintendent, Treasurer, and Board Room; a new front entrance with high school offices; expanded science rooms, low-tech programs, and a 5,000 square foot Conference Center. The 35,000 square foot addition includes a new Adult Education Center with related offices, including a large instructional food service lab and student run restaurant with an elevated outdoor terrace. The free-standing Agricultural Annex is connected to the School via an Adult Education and Student Lounge. The front and sides of the original School were redesigned to reflect the new academic programs and incorporate strategies for daylighting, and energy conservation. The 35,000 square foot rebuilt portion and the 30,000 square foot addition are climate-controlled using a ground source water and heat pump HVAC system.
