Anna Middle/High SchoolAnna, Ohio

Project Description

Anna Middle/High School was originally constructed in 1938 with additions in 1963, 1973, and 1999. The District maintained the building over the years with a variety of upgrades and renovation projects, but sought to continue their quality educational program by enhancing the learning environment with a cohesive and current facility.

A 10,000 SF steel frame swing building was constructed for temporary classrooms. The renovation’s design included significant HVAC, electrical, and plumbing work, as well as reprogrammed spaces with major upgrades of finishes. The entire building received security and technology upgrades throughout. BSHM was selected to renovate the existing 126,316 SF Middle/High School building to house approximately 700 6-12 students. The project also includes the renovation of an 837 SF board office and 3,986 SF auditorium, as well as the pictured bell tower to identify their new secure entrance. The building remained occupied during construction. In addition to the Middle/High School project, the District contracted BSHM to renovate their Elementary building and design a new entrance to their athletic complex.
