South Mifflin Elementary SchoolColumbus, Ohio

Project Description

As part of Columbus Public Schools Facilities Master Plan, South Mifflin replaced an existing school on the same site. The new, 46,000 SF, 350-student school is behind the existing school, which remained in operation.

The major feature of the new South Mifflin’s plan is a 14,000 square foot interior courtyard. Two kindergarten classrooms and the media center have direct access to the courtyard. The courtyard is in the center of the plan with classrooms and the student dining commons on the perimeter.

The school contains 13 regular classrooms which share 6 tutor rooms, 3 special ed rooms, 2 kindergartens, gym, cafeteria, media center and administrative offices.
